Employment Opportunities Will Be Increased Through MGNREGA: Chief Minister Shri Chouhan

General Meeting of MP State Employment Guarantee Council held

Bhopal .23 February . Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that work on increasing employment opportunities through MGNREGA will be done on priority. He directed the officers to benefit the beneficiaries by connecting them with MGNREGA. Chief Minister Shri Chouhan was reviewing the schemes in the general meeting of Madhya Pradesh State Employment Guarantee Council in Mantralaya. Forest Minister Kunwar Vijay Shah, Chief Secretary Shri Iqbal Singh Bains, Principal Secretary Panchayat and Rural Development Shri Umakant Umrao and other officers and members were present. Panchayat and Rural Development Minister Shri Mahendra Singh Sisodia virtually attended the meeting.

Chief Minister Shri Chouhan said that the labour budget is being utilised optimally in the state. He said that better work is being done to provide employment to all. No stone is being left unturned in the implementation of MGNREGA. He said that the labourers should be paid their wages on time. There should be no delay in payment of wages when funds are available from the Central Government.

Chief Minister Shri Chouhan said that fish farming should increase rapidly in the state. Benefit the beneficiaries by connecting with MGNREGA. Goat rearing should also be promoted. Renovate old ponds in Pushkar Dharohar Samridhi Abhiyan. Do the work of marking ponds expeditiously. Employment opportunities will also increase in the state with the rise in the water level. He directed to conduct social audit and take recovery action if the amount is found to be misused.
