New Delhi/Seoni. Advisor, Central Zoo Authority (CZA), Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, Shri Sanjay Kumar Shukla (IFS), informed late night on Thursday, 01 January 2026, that the Arctic and Antarctic—Earth’s harshest realms—are home to extraordinary bird species that symbolize endurance, adaptation, and the deep interconnection between nature and the health of our planet.

From the Arctic Tern’s remarkable pole-to-pole migration to the penguins, petrels, skuas, and albatrosses of the Southern Ocean, each species narrates an inspiring story of survival and resilience in extreme conditions.

Highlighting this spirit, Shri Shukla shared his eCalendar 2026 titled “Birds of the Polar Regions”, a tribute to these remarkable birds and the invaluable lessons they offer to humanity about perseverance, balance, and coexistence with nature.

Extending New Year greetings, he expressed hope that 2026 would bring the same resilience, grace, and boundless spirit into everyone’s lives as embodied by these birds. He wished all citizens and their families a Very Happy New Year 2026, filled with hope, discovery, and joy.
